The Best Things in Life are Free and Filled with Trees

Giant Forest Museum in Sequoia National Park

I get so excited about free entry into the National Parks which is kind of ridiculous considering I have an annual pass.  I get free entry whenever I want, but for those of you who don’t you should be even more excited about free entry days.  In order to assist in your inevitable enthusiasm, here’s the schedule for 2011.
January 15-17 (Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Weekend)
April 16-24 (National Parks Week)
June 21 (Summer Solstice)
September 24 (Public Lands Day)
November 11-13 (Veterans Day Weekend)

The first free weekend is THIS WEEKEND!  So get out there and enjoy your nearest National Park.  I’ll be in Sequoia and (hopefully) Kings Canyon.
