FTW Wednesday: Play Again

7 Mar

There’s no shortage of research on how beneficial it is for us to spend time outdoors, but children spend an average of 7 1/2 hours a day looking at a computer screen, which is not much less than the total time they’re awake.  The documentary Play Again takes a look at what happens when kids that pass their time online swap that for time in nature.

“What they will not value, they will not protect, and what they will not protect, they will lose.”

This looks like an amazing film (the music is by Sigur Ros and Kimya Dawson) and I’m hoping to see it tomorrow night at a film series.  Check the upcoming screenings on their website for a viewing near you.
